JNV Giridih commenced its journey in a small welfare hostel provided by the district administration, situated 23 km away from its present location. Despite facing initial challenges with inadequate infrastructure and facilities, the school thrived and quickly established itself as a model institution in the district and the Patna Region. In December 1997, the Vidyalaya was shifted to its permanent site, though temporarily housed in another building.
However, the persistence and dedication of the academic teams paid off when, in July 2002, JNV Giridih finally acquired a well-constructed permanent building on its current site at Gandey block. The location holds historical significance, being named after the bow of Mahabharata’s Arjuna. The school’s tranquil atmosphere, favorable breeze throughout the year, and fresh air create an inviting ambiance, making it an ideal place for nurturing young minds.

Fees and Financials
The school endeavors to make quality education accessible to all, and its fee structure reflects this philosophy. For students of classes VI to VIII, the monthly fee is not applicable. However, for students of classes IX to XII under the General category (except BPL), the fee is set at Rs. 600 per month. For wards of Government Employees under the General category (except BPL), the monthly fee is Rs. 1500.
